A friend of mine is researching the Model 55 for a reference book he is writing. It would be great if you could add some information on your father's rifle to assist in the data for this book. If you could start with the serial number that would be great. Is the rifle a take down or solid frame? And what is the design of the butt plate? Most likely it has a serrated finish. This data would be greatly appreciated and helpful.
