Sharkdart,
You are hanging on to a 1929 manufactured rifle. Need some photos and more of a description to give you a guess as to its value. Is it a rifle or carbine, round or octagon barrel, pistol grip and checkered or not? Is it brown, or no finish, or still nicely blued? Post some more info and we can narrow in on a value.

Its a rifle, round barrel, not checkered, it's a 2/3ds mag, and it is still nicely blued but has not been refinished. My dad just told me about a receipt that my grandfather had when he bought it for $27. As for pictures it is to early in the morning for that lol. But maybe when I get off work. Thank you.

OK we have some progress here. The 30-30 or 30WCF as it was also known is the most popular cartridge in the production of the Model 1894. Almost 1,600,000 were made prior to 1964 and a ton afterwards. The round barrel is typically not as sought after as octagons. The shorter magazine is a special order item. I do not have my old catalogs with me to check prices but $27 sounds about right from what I recall from looking a while back. The fact that it has not been reblued is a plus. Original condition, even if it is a bit poor, is better than rebluing for collectors. That said not everybody is a collector and others would rather have a blue gun.
