I just bought a 30/06 the model says 742 carbine and its a remingtons rifle..Excellent shape, no rust, mounted bushnell scope on it. Very clean gun. Few scratches in the wood on it but nothing bad enough to cause it any loss in value.

I paid $300 for it. Can anyone tell me if i got a good deal? What would one of these guns sell for?

Im thinking of reselling it to make a few dollars if i can!!

I would say that is a good price. I see higher prices than that at gun shows.

hello ,,your 742 books for 350-400 in exc condition for a standard grade they did make some more expencive grades like the peerless grade ,a premiere grade with a game scene ,,a premier grade with gold inlay and a bicentenial model made in 1976 but the centennial model prices are about the same as the ADL +BDL models ,,there good shooting rifles but really never had much of a following in the semi market,,but it's a remington and you can't go wrong in most cases and it will rise in value as the years go by,,..
