I have a Winchester Model 61, serial # 17729 in excellant condition with an 8" handle and 17 grooves. The serial# indicates a pre war model, but the handle describes a post war model. Any ideas what I have and value. Thanks

I have the same 61 with 8" and 17 groves, round barrel. Serial 57025. According to Winchester, it was made in 1941. I would call mine in "like new condition" with only a small scratch on the butt. Are these weird or is there a mistake somewhere?
