i have a model 1897 12 ga. has 12 stamped on barrel just in front of breech. serial num is 46156. when was it mfg. and value please.

That old shotgun dates back to 1899! I wouldn't shoot magnums in it. I really need to know something about the condition of the gun. How much bluing is on it? What shape is the wood? Has it been refinished? Hope not. If you could send a few photos it would really help.
