A guy I work with was just "Willed" to him a Model 1889 Savage (Cal. 38-55).
It is in Excellent Condition. He was wondering what it's value could be. He is not into Guns and has no idea of a value. Can you help us with that?
Thank you, CJ

i'm assuming you mean a 1899 savage lever action rifle ,,if you can provide us with the first 3 digits of the serial followed by XXX's we can get the year made and go from there,,savage made alot of different grades so it could be any one of them,,barrel contour may help eg.. round or octagon and also if it's drilled and tapped for a scope and any other markings on the rifle ,,all these will help us when valueing it

Yes it has an Octagon barrel. It has no Tapped holes for a scope or mounts. He believes it has an ammo counter on the side to let you know how many rounds it has in it when loaded. The serial number is 77.3xx as seen on the barrel. No other markings on it.
Thanks, CJ
