I REALLY NEED SOMEONES ASSESMENT ON MY SITUATION REGARDING THIS WEAPON THINK I STUMBLED ON TOO WAR RELIC SAWED OFF GOOD CONDITION THINK IF IM CORRECT DATED 1947 ITS DEFINTLY SEEN ACTION NUMBERS MATCH CHAMBER/RECEIVER...NEED EST VALUE HELP!!!!HELP!!! 1

hello ,,sorry i didn't get this earlier,,well heres the scoope on your shotgun,,itMAY have been a riot gun the serial number is very close to a 1946 serial number listed as commercial riot gun ,,but thats not 100% because yours is earlier than the number listed,,are there any markings other than the winchester standard markings?what kinda finish is on it? parkerized or blued? whats the barrel lenght? and is it marked cly or full or mod? the riot guns should be cyl bored as would be the military versions,,they both should be marked US and the military version should have a heat sheild and bayonet lug..does it have any of these features? if it's just a cutdown md 12 i'd value it at 175-200 in parts value or to someone looking for a home defence shotgun ,,if it's aUS marked riot or military shotgun with a 20" barrel then the value could be alot more,,but that would depend if you could find out if the serial number definattly puts it in a specific serial number range used for riot or military shotguns..
