Looking for some help with the value of my Model 27-S 32-20 cal pump rifle. Can't find any ser. no. on it.It is complete and in working order although it has been modified with a Redfield peep sight years ago.I am looking for for a resale value and also what I might expect as a fair offer from a vendor at an antique arms show. Thanks, Ken
The Model 27S was a modified version of the Model 27. The only apparent difference was the presence of a cross-bolt type safety that the Model 27 lacked. I can see it on the right side of the receiver in your photos.
Your rifle is in pretty poor condition (although the wood looks to be pretty decent) and, if holes were drilled in the receiver to accommodate the Redfield receiver sight, the collector value has been further compromised.
Your rifle as it now stands is probably worth less than $400, probably closer to $300.
On the other hand, the Redfield sight by itself may be valued between $75 and $100, if it is as old as I think it may be.
Thanks for the input, any idea where the serial no. is located or if it even has one?
Sorry, I don't. It would be typical of the time for a .22 rifle to lack a serial number. But I cannot say that for sure.
Just to be sure, this rifle is a 32-20, not a 22. Would this make any difference in your previous stated value of $300-$400?
No change on the estimate of value.
Thanks, Merry Christmas, Ken
Same to you, Ken.
Also, I have deleted your other post, as you requested.
Thanks for visiting the Gun Values Board.
