Just bought a Westernfield M-59 Semi-Auto at an auction. Don't know much about the manufacturer. Or the real value of an M-59. Any insight would be appreciated.

hello ,,i beleive your westernfeild m-59 would be a stevens model 87 semi auto made for wards with the western feild model number ,,value for it would be in the 125-150 price range ..mabey a little more if really clean ..these were sometimes refered to as the "gill gun" because the gas vents on the left side kinda look like gills on a fish,,there were many of these made by stevens and sold under different names and models for chain stores,,they usually shoot good as long as there kept clean..

Thanks bigcurt, I was up, surfing the net for hours, And personally...Can't find proof that an M-59 was even manufactured. The #10 is punch stamped on the barrel near the rear sight. Thanks again.

if ya post a pic mabey we can cross it over to who made it ,,it could be a stevens ,,savage ,,mossberg,,or a marlin ,,those were the firms that made guns with the westernfeild trademake,,if it's a semi does it have the gills or cuts on the left side oppisite the ejection port?if so it's also a stevens model autoloader ,,my books don't list the model 58 either..it may be a mistamp and it could be a 59 also,,,
