Does anyone know where I can buy a MAS 36 and/or a MAS 49/56? I have looked at the normal C&R places (AIM, Century, SOG...) but with no luck. Thanks

I got an unissued MAS36 for $60 at BIG5 three years ago. It came with an unissued coiled up sling. I guess WW2 didn't last very long for France.

In the late 1980's I used to find unissued MAS 36's in gunshops for $45. I never bought one. I would have bought one if the French had been smart enough to have designed them with a safety. I don't know why they didn't even think of that.

The predecessors to the MAS 36 didn't have safeties either; I guess the French army didn't like them for some reason.
The commericial MAS sporters that came out post-WWII -did- have a wing type safety built into the trigger guard.
I'd like to know whether anyone sells a safety kit that can be retrofitted to a MAS 36.
