Does anyone have any info on this rifle?

It is:

-made in Italy
-chambered in .308
-no iron sights, only scope
-spoon type bolt
-mauser type action
-labeled CHURCHILL HIGHLANDER
-came with a 4x20 Kassnar scope

I picked it up second hand and it's performed beautifully, but I've been curious about it ever since someone suggested it was made by either Beretta or Breda of Italy. I have no other info on it.

Picked this up off another site's post...

"The Churchill Highlander rifle was manufactured in Italy for Kassnar Imports by FIAS (Fabrique Italiani Armi Sabatti). Sabatti is still in business today though Kassnar Imports isn't. You can see this rifle on Sabatti's website here: http://www.sabatti.it/eng/framesetgrossicalibri.htm."

Also this:

"The Churchill Highlander rifle was made in Italy, nicely stocked in European walnut, and was imported by Kassnar. Kassnar sold firearms under the Charles Daly name for many years."

On thehighroad.org there was (is?) the son of the Charles Daly that apparently still runs the company. He should be able to provde info if he is still active on that site - his member name is Charles Daly.

Brilliant, thanks. I was very curious as to the provenance of this piece -- it's a very nice handling and balanced rifle. Not a collector piece, but always gets a compliment.

alas, that link must be very old as it no longer works -- i went thru the main site and found their current listing of rifles. nothing resembles this one, although the actions they use are the same.

thanks!
