are you talking about a falling block rifle ,,single shot that you have a triggerguard that would seem like a lever action i guess,,when you open it you load it from on top..???if this is what you have then it may be a ideal single shot rifle ..they made it in a bunch of different calibers from 1896-1933 ,,in 1988 j stevens became j stevens arms and tool company ,,thus the j stevens a&t markings..the no44 ideal rifle which was the first model values range from 300 fair-1000 excellent and there were 100,000 rifles made in various calibers..

its a top loading single shot . has a hex barrel and takes a 25cal rim fire .. is was a 1894 model . good condition just wanted to get and idea of what it might be worth
