I inherited my father's Colt 1911:

S/N: 874XXX

I know it's made in 1914. No intention of selling, just curious what it's worth.

i think your year is off or your serial number is wrong,,6 digit 847xxx puts it in 1943 made by ithica,,if you added an extra x then it right for 1914 5 digit colt ..in which case value would be 1500-3500 if all original parts and finish
