I have a Model 61 in very good condition serial number is 30070. It is about 45 years old and in its life time probably had about 4 or 5 boxes of Long rifle rounds shot through it. It is rifled with a round barrel It has minor dings on stock but bluing is pristine and it has been kept clean and oiled. When was it manufactured? And what is its approximate worth?

In very good condition I would estimate in the 7-800.- range. (I'm assuming 22lr, there are some rare variations) I guess maybe because of the quantity made there just seems to be a whole heck of a lot of these, even very old ones, found in near pristine condition. I occasionally see people asking quite a bit more but I see more that are mint for around the 1,000 range.

Hello Erlingur,

Yes, I am located in the USA, western Washington State is where I am specifically located.

I have been collecting Winchesters for 36-years now, and have more than (70) of them in my collection. I primarily collect the Model 1885 Single Shot and the Model 1894 rifles, and the Model 1897 Shotgun.

This link will fill in the details about myself...

Good morning Erlingur,

Welcome to the forum. If you happen to collect any Winchester Model 1892 rifles I would be interested in adding them to my research.

I am conducting a research survey of the Model 1892 rifle. I would like to add your rifle into the data base but need a bit more information. I am looking for the barrel address type, caliber stamp, upper tang stamp, serial number and overall configuration of the rifle. I have reference material to use or a few good photos will cover it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. This link will give you some idea of what I am doing. http://www.winchestercollector.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3460

Thanks so much,
Michael
