I have a 1911 Colt .45acp, it is stamped United States Property. It is in good condition. I bought it 30 years ago from someone at my job and he got it from his brother that had worked at the Atlanta Penitentiary and carried this pistol on his job and I have the shoulder holster he carried it in too. I would like an idea of it's value.

I can take some digital pics and send them if it would help with determining it's value. I found out by the serial number it was built either late 1914 or in early 1915.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

hi dacota,
I've found a couple with the 100xxx serial numbers manufactured in 1914. the asking price is somewhere between $2000 and $3000 depending on condition. if it where a 600xxx serial number the value whould be 2 to 3 times that because the 6 depics a army issue. same weapon differant duty. JMHO

Thanks Kim, I appreciate you looking that information up for me. I wish mine did have the number 6 as the first number, wouldn't that be sweet. Have a great day.....dakota
