I inherited two guns from my grandfather. I would like to know some history on these guns and also a value to insure them as I will probably never sell.

1. Winchester Model 74 made in New Haven Conneticut 22L rifle ser #336816A

2.HSBS Cruso chicago 410 Bore 12m-m

hello ,,i can help with the winchester md 74,,was made between 1930-1955 and current value would be 200 good to 400 exc,,

,,the 410 i looked and can't find anything in my refrence books on a hsbs crusso listed,,i even looked online and tried searching different ways from your description and still nothing ,,my guess is it's proably a trade name or an importers name ,,sorry ,,most single shot shotguns fall into the inexpencive starter shotgun catagory and most will fall in the 75-125 range depending on condition and maker ,,some trap models singles will bring high dollars but quality and workmanship are excellent on these and they are usually listed under the company name that produced them ,,

I thank you for your time. They have more sentimental value to me then anything. I can not find the 410 either on anything. There are not that many markings on it other then a rooster logo and what I listed already. I do thank you I do not know much about guns.

My mother got the Colt pistol the only numbers I found on it was DA 38 do you know anything about that.

do ya know the barrel lenght on the colt? and also you say theres a rooster on the shotgun ,,have you taken the forarm off yet ? it should just pull off ,,and then under the forarm are there any markings on the barrel ?i'm looking for proof marks,,crowns over numbers or letters ,,birds ,,crosses ,,sheilds ect something we could put a country of origin on ,,it may help some,,and any chance ya can post a clear pic of the markings? ,,

,,also the colt ,,can ya post a pic so i can see what model it might be ,,does it look old or a newer model ,,it could be an old police positive ,,official police ,, theres just a bunch of possibilities it could be ,,barrel lenght may help if it's a snub nose or short barrel theres possibilities ,,also what kind of grips does it have wood or black hard rubber ,,is there a colt horse on them or just the COLT name ?/these are some things that may help with determining the model ,,but a pic would be worth a thousand words as they say in this case for sure !!lol,,
