I HAVE WINCHESTER MODEL 61 THAT BELONGED TO MY FATHER WHO BOUGHT IT NEW IT ISIN PERFECT CONDITION WITH A VERY GOOD 4 POWER SCOPE ON IT NO RUST OR DING IN METAL HAS 3 DIGIT SERIAL NUMBER WHATS IT WORTH?

John,

Everything was going well until you told me dad put a scope on it. Drilling holes into these rifle just really hurts the value to the collectors. That doesn't say somebody might not give buy it from you. But if it is as nice as you say without the scope it was in the range of $2500 to $3000. Drilled maybe half that. That's a $3000 rifle in the photo. The octagon barrel helps a bit. It's the original condition and iron sights that make these old rifle so much fun.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP I AM THINKING ABOUT SELLING THIS GUN BUT IT HAS A LOT OF SENTIMENTAL MEANING TO ME IN IT IT STILL HAS THE IRON SIGHTS ON IT THE SCOPE IS A LYMONE ALL AMERICAN 4 POWER SERIAL# OF THE GUN IS #339
