I have recently acquired what I thought was a Krag rifle from a friend, but the serial number on the gun doesn't make sense. the gun is stamped on the left side U.S. Springfield Armory 1899 then serial #854025. The gun look exactly like a krag rifle and action, but the serial number should not be that high. Help!
