I have an old shotgun with the brand name of "W.P. Wonder" Its a 20 gauge break action. Any clues on what the W. P. stands for or who the real manufacter is.

hello,,around the turn of the century many shotguns were imported from overseas for mail order firms who many times stamped ther trade names on them ,,if you remove the forarm you may find proofs or some markings that may determing if it was imported and possibly the country of origin,,many cam in from belgium and italy, spain, britian and germany ..some have collectors intrest and some don't have much collectors intrest ,,and there mainly concidered as trade guns ,,and values usually range from 200-500 for doubles and 75-125 for singles unless finely engraved or high grade examples ,,i've seen the wonder name before but it's kinda hard to tell exactly who may have made it without detailed pic's of the markings or proofs and then proably the best you could do is id the country,,i really don't see any listing for just the wonder name..

Thanks for your quick response! I checked under the foreend grip, nothing. On top of the barrell close to the breach is stamped "20 GA. Choke" no modified or full just that and the W.P. Wonder on the left side. The serial if that helps is A267960 I will be posting stuff on two more rifles if you care to check them out also.
