I have an old .22 Sturm Ruger long rifle automatic pistol. It was a gift a long time ago from an Aunt. Has one clip and a zippered black faux leather carrying case with fleece lining. Serial # 466147. I would like to know the value. It has seen some use.

Believe you have a Ruger "Mark I" made in 1968 per the serial number. Can you confirm his and provide the below information?
*Red, Black, or Silver Eagle grips?
* Barrel length?
* Tapered or bull barrel?
* Does it have U.S. on top of the frame?
* Blued or stainless?

The grip is black has the silver color circle with eagle on left side. The pistol looks flat black, see no evidence of blue. The only thing written on it aside from the serial is right side: Sturm Ruger & Co. Inc
Southport Conn USA , the left side has RUGER 22 cal Long Rifle, it has a chrome trigger. The finish is not rough but looks worn in all of the high spots.

The barrel measured 4 1/2. It is tapered. No US on the top of it. The eagle in the circle is black. The grip seems to be plastic. It shoots fine. I want to sell it.
It has finish wear. I would say good condition, needs finish work.

Need to remeasure that barrel length from the beginning of the chamber to the very end of the muzzle. The tapered barrel length should be 5-1/4".

The value is;
Exc. Cond: $700.00 USD
V.G. Cond: $600.00 USD
Good Cond: $400.00 USD
Fair Cond: $250.00 USD

Hope this helps,
kcbuck

Any idea on age that's more important to me, I would hold on to this gun simply for the sentimental value. Thanks again

go to Ruger's website and you can trace the serial number to the year and download a manual.

Looks like 1982
