I have a Winchester Model 94 30 W.C.F. Serial # 361249 that has been fully reconditioned and looks like brand new. 25 or so inch octagon barrel. Can anyone give me a value and date on such a firearm? I was told the year was 1904, but my research indicates 1906.

I don't know when you bought this rifle, but my husband sold his to someone a year or so ago because we needed to money, and is regretting it severely. If you would like to sell yours, we will buy it from you. Ours looked to be reconditioned as well and looked to be brand new. We were told the value of ours was between $700 and $2000. If I remember correctly, I think we sold ours for around $1000. If the condition of yours is what ours was in - which was almost perfect and if your ever willing to sell, let me know, please. I am willing to pay.

by the way, the winchester we sold was NOT reconditioned. It just looked like it was because it looked brand new. So the value that we were told (between 700 and 2000) would not apply to a reconditioned rifle. I know your post was questioning the value of yours and I apologize for not being more clear in my previous post. If yours is reconditioned it is not worth much because it is not a collector piece. I offered to buy yours from you only because I am not a collector so I am not interested in the value of it... only the condition of it.

hello,,reconditioning a rifle of this type and age can really hurt the value unless the person who refinished it does high quality work and even if so the value is much lower than an original example with original finishes ,,so as the above poster stated i'd estimate without seeing a pic the value to be around 700-1000 and the 1000 would be for a excellent refinishing job ,,problem is.. a collector may not go that high on something that doesn't look right for it's age,,and it's hard to make a 100 yr old item look right for 2009..
