Guest,

It all is going to depend on the condition number one. If you can tell me a good description of the rifle from what the bluing is like, round or oct barrel, what shape the wood is in, pistol grip or not, carbine or rifle configuration and caliber. All that will help

Does it have a metal band all the way around the barrel and fore end like the one in the photo? If so it's a carbine. Rifles had round or Octagon but carbines are always round.

Danielle,

All right it is a round barreled rifle which is not uncommon.
So the only thing left to know is what kind of condition is it in?
Are the metal parts still a dark blue color or have they turned a brown
or worst case been sanded or buffed clean. Then also what shape is the wood in?

If you send a few photos that would very much help. The condition of the
rifle is the ultimate determinant.

Danielle,

If it has a round barrel and the metal band all the way around the wooden fore end and the barrel, like in the photo, it should also have a small ring on the otherside of the receiver. You haven't mentioned that so I am thinking it is a rifle and not a carbine style. Carbine are "just" short versions of a rifle in simple terms.

I know you do not know much but I would really need to know the condition of the rifle. Pics would be a geat help. For comparison sake the first phot I posted is about a $1200 gun. The next one below is probably worth $900 and the bottom rifle is a $3000 gem. They are all the same type of rifle from just a few years apart but the condition is dramatically different between them. That is why I hesitate to tell "what your rifle is worth" I could be so wrong because I can't see it.

Tell me about the little ring and try to send a few photos.
