hello,,i presume your md 100 has 5 digits total in the serial number and if so the date of manufacture is 1962,,values in good condition would be 300 for rifle model and 350 for the 19" barreled carbine model ,,
,,,,,PLEASE READ THE BELOW SECTION,,,,,,

,,winchester recalled this model 1990 and you should check that the recalled problem was repaired before shooting it ,,the problem revolves around the fireing pin ,,from what i've read the fireing pin will sometimes break and lodge into the fireing pin hole causing the rifle to fire before the bolt is closed and locked resulting in a dangerous situation and possibly harming the shooter or the rifle or both!!!! ,,IF YOUR NOT SURE IF THE REPAIR WAS DONE OR NOT DO NOT FIre IT UNTILL YOU CHECK WITH CUSTOMER SUPPORT!!call winchester support and they can tell you if the problem was corrected TOLL FREE NUMBER IS 1-800-852-5734,,

then it was made first year 1961 instead of 1962,,but please have it checked out if you don't know about the fireing pin issue!
