Guest,

You are looking at a 1928 vintage rifle. What I need to know is how much bluing is on the gun? Is it a rifle or carbine configuration? Are there any special order features like fancy wood, special sights, half octagon barrel etc..? Typical rifles were refered to as Sporting Rifles and look like the photo below. Carbines have a metal band that goes all the way around the fore end and the barrel. Condition is the most important driving factor in value. If you can answer some of these questions and/or supply a few good pictures it would make the estimate a lot more accurate. Right now it could be a $1500 to $5000 rifle. That is quite a range.

Thanks

I have the same Winchester Lever Action 25/35 with a serial number of 515234. This gun has been passed down through the family. Since the serial number is lower than most that I've seen posted, does the value of the rifle increase proportionately?

Greg,

Please post questions in a new topic instead of adding on to existing. Simple answer is no. It is based on condition. Please read and repost any questions. http://www.gunvaluesboard.com/why-i-need-photos- 254864.html#25490
