I have a Westernfield M79 30-30 rifle. Was wondering if you could give me the age, who actually made this gun (have heard was both Marlin and Mossberg), and an approximate value. It is in very good condition with what I believe is original scope on it. Thank you!

The Western Field Model 79 is a variant of the Mossberg Model 472 PCA made in the 1972-1976 time frame. I have no references to give an exact date.

Retail value would range form $125 to $250 depending on mechanical condition and remaining original wood and metal finish.
