I have a Western Field Model 724A ERM 30-06 cal. made in Wset Germany with a Western Field 3-9X33 scope, can you tell me more abuot its age and value? It has a full length stock, leather scope cover and leather sling.

hello,,any chance of getting a pic of the action on the rifle ,,this may tell what kind of action it's built on ,,weatherby ,,sauer,,and mauser made rifles in west germany,,so it could be one of these companys that could have produced it and it was sold by wards under there western field trademark,,it sounds like a good rifle but the western field trademark doesn't show anything with a 724A model refrence,,i'm still searching though,,

hello,,i found some info possibly on the rifle ,,i read a post on another forum and someone suggested that F W Heym may have mede these how wards got ahold of them is beyond me because there not you average inexpencive wards rifle ,,i'm still looking around but i'll come across more info and figure this one out ..now it's a challenge..lol

hello again ,,have you ever had the action out of the stock? if you can take the 2 screws out and remove the action from the stock and look underneith and see if it's marked F W Heym,,at least this way i'll know if i'm going in the right direction ,,it seems they did make rifles on modified mauser actions after the war and they were imported into the states thru different importers,,so far it sounds like a model 20N with a mannilicher stock,,if so prices could be around or over 1000,,but i'll keep looking and might find some more info on it ,,but i bet it was the most expencive ward gun you could order or buy at the time !!

The action is a modified mauser and F.W.Heym is stamped on the under side of barrel. if you find out any more on age or any thing else please let me know thanks old benthook
