I have a walter p38,9mm
ser. #099--
matching ser. #on magazine.
it has 3 markings on the side. first looks like an upside w, eagle in the middle, third marking looks like 36 with a small marking over that.
i also have all the goverment paperwork allowing the gun to be brought bace from ww11.
rear sights painted red.
excellent condition.

hello ,,sounds like you have an intresting p-38 and really cool to have the capture papers to go with it..for the package i'd estimate your pistol to bring around 1500+ in poor condition and may possibly go for much much more.. as high as possibly 5000-8000 for this early of an example with the original capture papers at a good military auction or to a german collector ..the markings are proably nazi inspectors proofs called waffenamps ,,a very collectable german produced p-38 refered to as the first "zero series" and only 1000 of this series were produced ..sounds like you have a very rare pistol and it would pay to have a german collector examine it and give you an insurance replacement value ,,keep it in a safe place ..
