I have a WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER OBERNDORF A/N Modelo 1909 .243 rifle. It also says Peru stampd on it. It was given to me by my late uncle. Just curious about its origin and value. It is priceless to me.

hello sounds like a peruvian mauser that was sporterized and rebarreled ,,the original caliber was 7.65x53 mauser round ,,if it's 243 then it's definatly had some work done on it,,value would be just what it is a sporting rifle for hunting,,and depending how nice the sporter job was done then i'd say the value would be around 200-300,,if it were original and a matching example the prices would proably be almost double to a mauser collector,,,,but as you say something like this is priceless

,,it started out as a contract mauser made in germany under contract to peru,,around 50.000 rifles were built and delivered to peru between 1910-1914,,its basically a model 98 mauser and many m98 actions have been sporterized and rebarreled throughout the years ,,and many still being used today,,

Thanks. I've been wondering about that for a while. This gun still shoots very well and it is priceless to me.

Maybe a dumb question, but was my gun made in 1909 or just a model 1909?
