I have a S&W 38 Special CTG with an ivory handle with C 186583 stamped on the bottom of it. Right side of revolver has The Trademark, Marcas Registradas, and 38 S&W Special CTG on barrel. Had the gun for 27yrs now. It belonged to my grandfather who was in The Salvation Army. Believe this gun is 40 plus yrs old??? Can someone please tell me some history and value of this 38 Special?

Hello
This is an early post-war .38 Military & Police revolver. It was made in c. 1950. There are several factors, including condition, that will affect the value.
If you can, please post a couple clear photographs of each side of your gun. I will evaluate the condition and configuration and then provide an estimate of value.
Regards,
JP
