I could not find anything linking to the L in the Model number.

Any help out there!

yea,, i see theres no listings in my books for an L model,,does yours have the rounded receiver sides where the shells go in or is it a flat sided model,,also can you find the date code on it? should be a should be a small circle with a letter and a number usually forund behinde the hindge pin or in front of the triggerguard on the bottom of the frame ,,the letter is the date code A=1949 and they run thru X being 1970,,
