I have a Savage model 99 and this weekend I had a scope installed. When sighting in the bullet made a slice through the target rayher than a hole. The rifeling seems to be good. I have read that early models were chambered for the .311 .The bore shows it to be larger than 308 .How can I determine what is the correct bullet to use .?
