I have a Remington Woodsmaster 742 30.06 Sprg. The only other numbers I can find on it (don't know which is serial number) are 29PMF and 182375. Is there a way to find out how old it is and how much it is worth? The wood on the stock is quite ornate with fleru di lis carved into it.

Thanks so much!

Hello,
The date of manufacture based on your serial # would put it in the timeframe of 1951-1967. Based on 29PMF your barrel date is June of 1965, which would be consistent with manufactured date. The book values on the 742 are as follows:
The Standard Remington Model 742 in .30-06 is valued at;
Exc. Cond: $350
V.G. Cond: $275
Good Cond: $250
I hope this info has helped you at least a little bit. Sorry it took so long in getting to you. Take care,
