hello,,i don't think thats the model number.. sounds more like a serial number..remington used a date code on some of ther rifles and shotguns and it's usually located on the left side of the barrel where it meets the receiver ,,heres a link to a site for the date codes ,,look under the remington section of the link and it might help with a date for your shotgun
