hello,,many springfields were converted to sporters in the 50-60's when they could be had for around 20 bucks ,,i beleive someone has done this to yours ,,the nra sporters were made useing the 1903 action not the 03a3 that i'm aware of..your rifle from the serial number places it as being built in feb. 1943 since it was reblued and heavily sporterized value is to a hunter over a collector ,,there were some 03a4 rifles built as sniper models but unless the scope mounts are permanatly attached to the receiver then i'd say you have a nice but run of the mill 03a3 sporter,,worth somewhere between 300-500 in the sporting/hunting rifle market,,if by a slim chance it is a 03a4 to return it to original specification would be very costly and if reblued then i wouldn't even recommend trying unless you could document it as being a sniper and no other modifications have been done,,and it still has the original sniper scope which would be a weaver 330 or m84
