I have a Model Colt 1911 from WW1 Serial Number 264713 with Holster. My grandfathered carried it in the calvary. It is in good condition. Operates perfectly. Is is worth much?

just about all us 1911 45 auto have value ,,yours should be a colt made model produced in 1918 ,,condition means the most to 1911 collectors and original finish may look worn but thats what a almost 100 yr old gun should look like ,,so thats the finish most collectors want to see ,,something that looks brand new has proably been refinished at some time ,,and will detract from the collectability of the pistol,,also correct parts are very important..some of these pistols may have been rebuilt at some time so some parts may not be correct for the pistol and this will detract a little from the value ,,

,,ok noe that we have the tech issues outa the way the pistol shoule be worth 1000-1500+ i can't give more details without seeing it but thats a starting point and i'd recommend getting a person more knowledgable with 1911 to look it over and see what they say ,,could go for twice the amount i quoted if correct and original,,theres real collectors market on these old colts right now so get it checked out before you sell it'

i have a colt 1911 .45 serial #843492. It is stamped United States Property and m1911a1 U.S.Army on the right side of the frame and the standard Colt Patent info and logo on the left side of the slide. The last patent date listed is Aug 19, 1913. It also has the x and upside down triangle stamps on the left front side of the trigger guard, a P just below the magazine release button and WB with a square around it stameped just below the slide lock. Weapon is in good to fair finish with original finish, grips, barrel, recoil spring and bushing. The only non original parts i can notice is the sights. I'm wondering about what time frame it was manufactured and approximate value. (I payed $650.)
