I have a JP Sauer and Sohn sxs, I am told it is a model 11, made in the early 1900s, it is quite fancy with a plated engraved reciever, sling swivels, crossbolt, metal gripcap. The gun originally had 2 1/2 in chambers but was sent to the factory sometime in the 40s to be changed to 2 3/4 chambers. The piece is in excellent condition. Can anyone tell me an approx value?

hello,,jp sauer and sons made double shotguns from before ww2 thru the 70's in a varity of guages and grades,,yours sounds like possibly a higher grade model of the pre ww2 shotguns ,,and value could be around 600-800 but this is a guess and may be actually low .. you might be best advised to have someone knowledgable in sauer shotguns to look at it for a proper appraisal..possibly take it to a gunshow in your aera and see what the dealers have to say about it,,i don't see a listing for a md 11 in my books the pre war model was the model 60 but i do see the grades that were available and possibly thats what the dealers were talking about ,,there is a grade II,,
