I have a IBM M1 Carbine and would like to know the value.

I will provide additional information at your request. The following information is what I have documented so far:

Serial Number is: 3,799,636

• The stock is all original and classified as a Hi-Wood, Oval Cut Stock. The stock is marked LW-B and the hand guard is marked JLB.
• The hand guard is a 2 rivet early style.
• The Stock is marked with a Crossed Cannons Cartouche.
• It has the 1st style barrel band and the sling assembly is marked KV-B.
• This Rifle was manufactured between January and March of 1944.
• The 18” barrel is an IBM marked barrel manufactured 12-43 and has the US Ordinance Department Cartouche below the date (Flaming Cannon Ball)
• The Front Sight is marked SI B (Simpro Mfg. Co.).
• The Rear Peep sight is marked IN B.
• Magazine Catch is marked PR-B.
• Early unmarked Push Button Safety.
• Trigger Housing is marked BE-B.
• Square Pattern Butt Plate.
• Straight Faced Slide Cam
• The Receiver has no “AO” markings.
• The Type B Round Bolt is marked with an “X”.
• The Sling is, as far as I can tell, Unmarked.
• The Oiler is empty, the rod in the cap is intact, and the oiler is marked SI or IS on the bottom.
• The Magazine Pouch was manufactured by B.B.S. Co. in 1943.
• Magazine #1 (I-IP) Irwin Pedersen (Made by Silver International)
• Magazine #2 (C+ E) IBM Manufactured by J.L. Clark Mfg. Co.

hello,,first off this is an excellent job of what we like to know and see when you ask for our opinion ,,great pics and looks like you have done your homework, two thumbs up to you !!

now i agree with discover on this one and i'd say a collector would be very intrested in your carbine with the early features like rear site an no bayo lug ,,value should hit 1000 easily ,,and proably more depending how the collector see's the parts and there originality to the year of production,,if everything is RIGHT,,then it's a pretty rare bird and collectors will get into a bidding war over it ,,

Thanks again!

Hey guys, just a quick reminder: GVB current rules do not allow even informational posting about buying or selling firearms.

Values are fine, but information specific to buying/selling is currently prohibited. Legal issues, etc. Hopefully this rule will be lifted in the future.

Thanks.

I know. You're preaching to the choir on this one. Believe me. I had a whole blog series going on the subject that had to be taken down. PM me and I'll explain it.
