There are several possibilities with this description which is a problem for us here. If you can upload an image or two that would solve several problems besides the identification problem. The other is answering the question of condition.

If you can upload an image, great, otherwise I'll need to know what is stamped on the barrel (opening of the slide exposing the barrel) and if there is what looks like a cap/extension at the muzzle end? There will be a serial number on this extension.

If this pistol is without that piece then we might be looking at something other than the Model 1922.

What do you have to add, Dan. And I deleted your other duplicate question.

Thanks Dan for the images. You have a Browning High Power (or HP) which was made in Belgium by Fabrique Nationale (known as FN) during WWII for the Germans.

The Germans captured the FN factory in 1940 and eventually put the factory back to work making arms for the NAZI regime.

Your pistol was made late 1943 by this labor and is considered by some to be a collector, not a shooter.

Based on the condition of this pistol I'd place the value at $550 to $750 or so depending on close examination and barrel condition and if you have any thing else to go along such as a holster or capture papers from the returning G.I.

If you find my answer helpful please 'click' on the green "Applaud" or "Thumbs up" Rating to the left.

I also have a Fabrique Nationale Herstal Belgique 9mm, ser number 245px04629, fixed sight. Its in good to excellent condition, 1 box of shells have been fired. Still have the box, and small booklet, and clip that came with it. Purchased in 1990, $440. Any idea on value. I'm guessing $1000

The gun I have has three swastikas stamped in it: one on the frame, the slide and the barrel. Serial number is 41897a and is a 9 mm. Gun is in very good condition and I have shot it many times. a little wear in the finish but not bad.

Comments are appreciated. Rudeness and insults are not.

BTW "ahh", I'll guess you are looking at the Browning chart that starts with the US made firearms in 1954.

How would you account for all of the FN Hi Powers made before then?

If you would post your references it would make it easier than just throwing out a statement with an insult attached.
