hello the dpms ar style rifles are good rifles from what i've read and herd ,,i personally have never owned one ,,but have owned a few ar rifles ,,there cool and look awsome when tricked out but they can become a money pit that it's hard to recoupe if you go to sell them,,seems everyone today is buying ar's and manufactures are having a hard time keeping up with orders ,,but as a whole i think there hard to sell,,for 2 reasons ,,1 most average buyers overpay for it to start with because of dealer markup when they buy it ,,and 2 there are so many guys trying to sell them now the markets flooded ,,the dpms ap4 you have has a 1000 retail,,a dealer doesn't pay retail because he cant sell it for retail and a profit so on the 1000 dollar gun dealer actual cost is proably around 6-700,,so when you buy you have already paid more than it's worth!!then you go back in the next day and try to sell it and a dealer offers ya 500 bucks for it and it makes ya mad ,,but thats the way gunshops work and make money..for yours used if you want to SELL it i'd say to look for around 600-700..mabey ask more ..but i think your not gonna sell it if you don't keep the price right these days,,money is tight and people aren't buying like they did 3 years ago so they look more than actually dig in ther pockets ..
just what i've seen with ar's these days ..

big curt, you are 100 % correct dealer makes 200.00 or so profit but when you want to sell it back because you short on money or what have you even if that gun not even been taken out of box he will only offer you 50-55 % of your money back to you. even if you done bussines in past with same dealer thats their story. so unfair..

i totally agree with you and it doesn't amke me the happiest camper when they do it to me either ,,i never came out ahead with most dealers and even on a trade they seldom trade even unless your going way down on the value of what you want from them,,sure they will ttrade your ar for a remington pump worth 200-250 but it makes ya think do i have stupid wrote across my face or what,,but some people will trade because they don't know better lol,,lol,, ,,thats why i try to be honest with people when they ask a question ,,if you want to sell it i'd try the online route and i'd try here or mabey look over at ar15.net they have a sell section and theres alot a ar people who may give you better prices than local shows or dealers ,,when you sell it they must be willing to accept it from a private individual and you gotta ship it to an ffl so everything is above the table and there shouldn't be a problem with regs and be up front in your desscription when ya list it so no hassels afterwards..and make sure you list it no sales to states where prohibited ,,good luck with it..
