hello,,dating a remington can be done with the barrel code located on the left side of the barrel near where it meets the receiver ..should be a 2 digit code and maybe in an oval,,find this then use this site to determine the year ,,scroll down to remington dates and you should find it there,, https://store.bluebookinc.com/info/PDF/Firearm/ Serialize.pdf

The code I have is PH7 also there are 3 years with the letter H 39 61 87 which one do you go by. thank you for the guide info.
