i suppose it doesn't have any type of name on it ,,without knowing who made it it's impossible to even guess a value.. even with pics it wouldn't help without a maker,,someone had to make it!

hello,,i'm sorry i ddin't see your first post with the markings on it listed,,i read your second part and it seemed like alot we get without much information included ,,the francotti helps ,,you mentioned crowns ,,are ther any letter under them ,,possibly take the forarm off and look under the barrels for crowns with possibly AF under them ..also look for "Francotte choke bore" under the barrels,,these markings should be there if it's a francotte shotgun ..from the refrence i'm getting in my books ,,francotte shotguns were special made and engraved to customer specs,,and from the ornate engraving and inlays yours has it's a good chance this may have been who made it,,but the proofs and markings must be correct,,these shotguns can be pretty pricy and a 1 of a kind item as such would be very difficult to actually value ,,because they were custom order only and they didn't make model number guns ,,prices in my book are very high and about good would range from 5000-6200,,and perfect could be as high as 15000+,,but the appeal would be to someone looking for a very unusual shotgun for a collection thats not your ordinary run of the mill factory made shotgun,,post a pic here if ya can to let other members see it,,just hit the tab in the reply box marked attach an image and find it on your computer and double click it then hit submit..i'd like to see the monkey with the ruby eyes ....
pretty cool ..

wow thats really cool,,very nice shotgun and i'd say you have a nice collectors item there and definatly a one of a kind with the engraving and stock work,,it sure would be cool to know who had it made ,,can you remove the forarm ? it should be fairly easy to remove proably either has a screw or it just pulls down and back,,i would like to know what proofs are on the watertable under the barrels ,,it may even give you some more clues to who made it or the country of origin,,the crowns could be british or mabey spanish but there should be proofs market on the bottom of the barrels and possibly on the shelf the barrels sit on,,really cool..thanks for sharing it with us ..

I have the basic same gun in 28 ga also. They are what I would refer to as Belgium made "guild" guns, in that several craftsman had a hand in putting it together, but no one "maker" put their name on it. My barrels say "made in Belgium" on the left barrel. It also says "Siemens Martin Extra" on one barrel then "epreuve officielle pour poudre sans fumes". I believe this translates to "officially tested for smokeless powder". Some of you French majors out there please correct me if I am wrong. The barrel flats and action show the Liege nitro proof marks, but no other signs of known makers marks appear. My barrles are interestingly choked cylender on the right (0), and full on the left (.16) They "ring like a bell" which I have been lead to believe make them of good quality and craftsmanship. The inside of the locks show reasonable craftsmanship, but do not have intercepting sears. So, I would suggest not keeping them cocked and at the ready unless you are actually ready to shoot. All other features of your gun, with the exception of the engraving, appear to be identicle. My engraving is more "bold floral" in style. Hope this helps identify and enlighten things for you.
