i have 1895 savage 303 lever serial# 5636

just picked this old girl up at a local gun show. i could tell by the serial number she was a oldly . the stock and forearm have a few marks in them but retains all the old finish . reciever and barrel has roughly 75% of bluing along with the the factory sights. there's no checkering or ingraveing she's just a good looker. any idea want the value would be?

i've been able to find two 1895's in 303, both where in the $2000 range but niether were discribed to be in as good of condition as yours. a hands on appraisel would likely be in order. JMHO

your best bet would be to have it appraised for insurance purposes. the agent who insures it will know where and how to get it done.

does anyone out there know how i can trace the serial # on this 1895 savage 303 the one web site said it was made in 1895 would like to know the date of production and where it was sold
