I found a Winchester 94 30-30 in a sporting goods store, serial #1944954.

It has a 4x Weaver scope mounted on it - a side mount.

1. What year was it made?
2. Where would you place the value?

Thanks

hello ,,your winchester was made in 1953 and is concidered as a pre 64 rifle to collectors ,,pre 64 made winchester are very collectable ..especially the early pre ww2 models and these seem to be bringing the most money with collectors ,,

,,collectors look for original guns in original condition with no add on's like scopes or sling swivels especially if to add them there are extra holes in the frame or wood,,also original finishes are a big factor when collector looks at pre 64 guns,,

,,so if the scope had to have extra holes drilled then it becomes more a hunting gun than a collectors gun and value would be between 250-350,,if the mount they used was a no drill mount useing existing holes then value would start at 350 and mabey go as high as 600 depending on the condition of the rest of the rifle,,
