I am searching for information on a gun very much like this post - 1875 Colt 45 Peacemaker. There are no Colt markings on the frame or grips which are plain wood. The left side of the barrel is marked '45 Colt'. The left side of the frame is marked 'PAT SEPT 19 1871' and 'JULY 2 72 JAN 19 75' immediately below that. There are no markings on the right side of the gun. There are three numbers on the bottom of the gun - one on the frame itself and one behind the screw that holds the trigger guard to the frame and one on the butt. The number on the frame looks like '2969xx' and the one on the trigger guard piece and on the butt look like they matche but they are well worn. The gun shows considerable wear but appears to be fully functional, but there is one screw missing that holds the back part of the trigger guard to the frame. The only other thing that seems to distinguish this gun is that the ejector rod has a sort of 'L' shaped end that protrudes from the slot and it lays against the barrel. It does not have a flat pad that you use to push on to eject rounds. I got this from my father who is now passed on. I am not looking to sell this gun but would like to know more about what I have and it's approximate value. I can be reached at
