I am interested in purchasing a varmint rifle. Can anyone tell me what a good caliber would be?

22.250 is a good one my personal favorite

theres alot of good calibers out there ,,i like the 223 for a couple reasons ,,in a bolt gun there very accurate ,,i like the 110 savage line for an outa the box tack driver at reasonable prices,,another reason i like the 223 is the availability of ammo,,you can shoot cheap military ammo for target shooting and the major ammo manufactures make hunting ammo in 223 ,,it also can handle wihtetail deer sized game with proper shots and proper bullets ,,but there are many varmit calibers but i don't think you'll find anything out there that you can shoot as cheap,,,i know many ground hog shooters who prefer the 223 over any other small caliber round for shots out to 400 yds with the right tuned reloads ..just my opinion though..
