I am going to have a 25-06 built and was wondering some suggestions on barrel specs. Ex. length, amount of twist. This rifle is primarily going to be used as a deer huntig rifle so I am going to be packing it and do not want a benchrest type of rifle.

having a rifle built for you is expensive.a Remington 700 with 20 or 24 inch heavy barrel will do anything a custom made rifle will do in terms of accuracy.have the action bedded and adjust the trigger down to 2 or 2.5 lbs. you can shoot i hole groups at 200 yds with hand loads.use sierra match 168 gr bullets with imr 4064 powder at43.4 grains.you will get 2700 ft per sec from 24 inch barrel.it will shoot this well as i can do it at 71 yrs of age.
