Is this worth the $ to have repaired or should I attempt the repair myself? I'm pretty sure it's the transfer bar not striking the firing pin. However not exactly sure why.

That's what I figured. I have ordered a new firing pin and spring..got notice that it shipped yesterday. Looking at similar gun diagrams (newer "pardner" single shot) that looks identical has a transfer bar that is absent on my older model. The hammer is the same shape as the new model. As I was trying to diagnose the problem, a tiny pin fell out of the gun by the trigger gaurd, I guess it's possible that a pin that's a fraction of a cm could render a gun usless...any thoughts about the older vs. new diagram? any idea where I could find a similar diagram for the 30+ year old model I've got?
