hello,,the best i can do for ya is a date range based on your serial number ,,it sounds as though yours is a 4th model saftey hammerless model , these were nicknamed the lemon squeezers because of the grip saftey that must be held in while fireing ,there were 104,000 produced between 1898-1907 and in serial number range from 116003-220000,,this model has the standard T bar type latch found on most of the top break models and also will have the line"38 S+W cartridge" on the left side of the barrel,,actual dates for serial numbers are not exact and s+w can actually give you more info on the dates ,,but i beleive they charge for detailed info,,

Hey,
My Dad just gave me one of these that has been in his closet for years. Its serial number is: 114621, nickel plated with a perl handle. When was this made? Where can I take this to find out its worth? Also, the nickel plated is showing some age, do I get it restored ?

Thanks!
