hi sandra,
value could be considerable so i'ld suggest a hands on appraisel by an insurance adjuster. check out this site and see what they have.
http://www.thewinchestergrove.com/71/index.htm

The year of manufacture for serial number 1311000 is Between 1943 and 1948..

A total of 66783 were manufactured from 1933 to 1957. Reintroduced in 1972 and discontinued in 1973 after 8,259 were manufactured

anything made after serial#2500000 would have been made after 1961 and value for something in this range would be between 300-500 range in original condition and not altered for a scope mount or holes drilled for swivels or any other alterations from how it came in the box new..if altered prices are lower and collectors don't look at them unless a very rare model,,then they go into a hunting rifle catagory and prices are uasally lower than collector grade guns..
