Hi there

I have a Winchester 94 in a 32 WS. serial # 999659.

It has open site with slide for elevation. It also has a flip up peep
site behind hammer and saddle ring. The stock and
forearm are in good condition, but bluing
pretty much gone - no rust though - well oiled.

Any idea of age and value?

The rifle is known as a saddle ring carbine configuration. It was made in 1927. Condition is the dominant factor in determining value. The flip sight on the barrel was standard the peep was about a $3 extra. They will run about $120 to $180 if in good condition. Your description of the rifle tells me somebody buffed all the bluing and probable rust off it sometime in the past. Maybe the wood was "refinished" at the same time. One or both of these pretty much damaged the value of the rifle foe a collector. Without any photos I would venture it is in the $500 to maybe $700 range.
